What are your qualifications? 

A Bachelor of Speech Pathology, a PhD, a  Graduate Diploma in Special Education Teaching, Graduate Cert in International & Community Development and a Certificate IV in Business & Entrepreneurship.

What sort of work have you done?

Over 20 years of diverse practical experience in hospitals, community health, early intervention, preschools , schools and my own private practice. I have lectured for 12 years across a range of courses.

 

What practice areas do you have the most experience in?

Children with disability and working in early intervention, preschools and schools. 

What is your favourite work activity?

This is a cruel question - I enjoy so many aspects of speech pathology! I love working with speechies to give the families the best service - through individual supervision,  group supervision, lecturing or workshops. I also enjoy working in community teams.

In what other areas do you have strengths?

For a number of years I worked as a preschool teacher for children with disabilities, which turbo-boosted my knowledge of  overall child development. 

How would other people describe you as a supervisor/mentor/presenter?

I hope they would say I was caring, resourceful, and passionate.

When you are not working, what do you like doing?

I enjoy cooking and  I  go to the gym. I also walk. My biggest walking effort was 50km in one day with no blisters!
